YOUR NEW FAMILY MEMBER

Whether its a new puppy or a new-to-you rescue dog, I can help you set them up for success and harmony from day one with simple science-based positive reinforcement training and management tools. Getting a head start during those first few days (or even hours) can prevent MOST behavior challenges like potty accidents, separation anxiety and leash reactivity. Remember: they get REALLY good at what they practice!

BASIC SKILLS

Teach your pup the basic skills of sit, down, loose leash walking and coming on cue. Additionally, we can work on impulse control games like the life-saving "leave it" and the relaxing game "go to bed".

SOCIALIZATION AND APPROPRIATE PLAY

Socialization is often misunderstood as merely exposing a young dog to lots of people, novel items and other dogs. This often can backfire as the essential positive associations are not made during the exposure. I can break it down for you and help problem solve if your little one is having trouble out in the world. Additionally, I can help you interpret canine body language in adult dogs and encourage appropriate play in puppies. I can work with you at home or meet you near a dog park or other dog friendly places in Portland to practice appropriate interactions with your pup and his world.

DOG SITTING AND EXERCISE OUTINGS

Offered to established clients on a limited basis. Pups must be comfortable with boundaries i.e. x-pens, friendly with other dogs and comfortable traveling in a crate in the car.

Dog sitting:

Rates are $20/hour with a 10 hour minimum and include:

❤︎ Dispensing of medication

❤︎ Appropriate cardio exercise for breed size and age

❤︎ Brushing up on and practicing existing skills

❤︎ Ensuring positive associations to novel stimuli

❤︎ Exposure/playtime (as appropriate) with other well socialized dogs

And of course TONS of massage and snuggles if they enjoy that kind of thing.

Rates for 2 hour exercise outings include all of the above and are customized based on travel time and activities.
